With experience playing Division 3 basketball at Hunter College CUNY and competing overseas at Centro Escolar University in the Philippines, Coach Justin brings real-world basketball knowledge to every training session in Central, NJ.

A POINT GUARD'S PERSPECTIVE ON PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Coach Justin Antes didn't just study basketball, he lived it at the collegiate level both in the United States and overseas. As a former Division 3 point guard for Hunter College CUNY and collegiate player for Centro Escolar University (NAASCU) in Manila, Philippines, he understands what it takes to compete at high levels. Now, he channels that experience into developing the next generation of basketball players in Central New Jersey. With five years of coaching experience and over 50 athletes trained, Coach Justin teaches with intensity and purpose, pushing players to develop not just their skills but their mindset. His coaching philosophy centers on "development over delusion" creating an environment where athletes grow through purposeful training rather than empty promises. Every session focuses on building excellent habits on and off the court, leadership qualities, and the ability to perform when it matters most. Under the guidance of respected coaches including Coach Don Dulay, Coach Mon Jose, and Coach Jeff Perlas, Justin developed his approach to player development and now brings that expertise to OHANA Basketball Academy.

OHANA Basketball Academy exists to develop complete athletes, not just skilled players, but confident, intelligent competitors who understand the game at a deeper level. We blend high-level skill development with genuine mentorship, focusing on improving game IQ, fundamentals, confidence, discipline, and love for the game. Our training approach breaks away from traditional, rigid systems by emphasizing conceptual basketball. We teach players why and when to make decisions, not just what to do. This develops thinkers who can improvise and adapt within the rhythm of the game. Beyond the technical skills, we're committed to building self-awareness, mental toughness, and leadership qualities that serve athletes well beyond the basketball court. Serving families in Somerset & Middlesex counties, and throughout Central New Jersey, OHANA Academy is more than a training program, it's a community dedicated to purposeful player development.
